On Tuesday Trump and Netanyahu jointly presented a speech speaking about the new political framework the US have mapped out for the Middle East.
The plan is to conceptualize peace between Palestine and Israel but the whole thing does seem incredibly bias, meaning that a new way is being paved for Netanyahu to continue to assimilate settlement areas along the occupied West Bank.
J Street who are a Jewish American Politcal group who are Pro-Israel, pro-peace stated that they believe this whole arrangement to be a farce;
“coming in the midst of an Israeli election campaign, this is an attempt to hand the Prime Minister a political gift and a distraction from the very serious charges he is currently facing”
A statement from J Street slating the US plan to empower Israel with the ability to assume control over disputed territory.
The deal carves out a maturation of trade links between Israel and Palestine’s neighboring countries alongside Gulf Cooperation Council nations, with hopes of Israel and Palestine developing deeper econmic ties regionlly.
Through this deal Trump has a vision of particular conditions, in which he says a Palestinian state may be recognized. Clearly by America as Palestine has been recognized long before the illegal state of Israel and even now in some areas of the world Israel is not recognized as a legal state.
He highlighted key issues that the UN have continually failed to resolve and have been unable to bring to a positive conclusion, but he believes he can with his master plan. The issues of said plan cover areas such as borders, security and Jerusalem.
However, his stance on Israel is very clear through his agenda, Trump said;
“a realistic solution would give the Palestinians all the power to govern themselves, but not the powers to threaten Israel”
Meaning demilitarization of Palestine. Stripping Palestine of its right to ‘develop military capabilities’ with out the approval of Israel.
To be honest Palestine will have to seek the approval of Israel over most issues that hold any kind of importance.
How is this improving anything for Palestine?
Jared Kushner, Americas First Son In Law and adviser to the President, has taken it upon himself to lead the way on the administrations Middle Eastern policy, despite not having any background or expertise on the matter other than being very well read in the Palestine/Israel conflict, and lest we forget his very close and personal ties with Netanyahu, not to mention the fact that he is a fanatic Zionist supporter of illegal Israeli settlements within Palestine.
Kushner clearly is pushing for the Palestinians to be deprived of any hand in any kind of negotiations as well as depriving them of their dignity, their freedoms and of course land that is rightfully theirs.
In an interview he exclaimed how Palestinians have ‘never done anything right in their sad pathetic lives’.
” You have 5 million Palestinians who are really trapped because of bad leadership. So what we’ve done is we’ve created an opportunity for their leadership to either seize or not. If they screw up this opportunity—which, again, they have a perfect track record of missing opportunities—if they screw this up, I think that they will have a very hard time looking the international community in the face, saying they are victims, saying they have rights. This is a great deal for them. If they come to the table and negotiate, I think they can get something excellent.…
He continued to say;
The Palestinian leadership have to ask themselves a question: Do they want to have a state? Do they want to have a better life? If they do, we have created a framework for them to have it, and we’re going to treat them in a very respectful manner. If they don’t, then they’re going to screw up another opportunity like they’ve screwed up every other opportunity that they’ve ever had in their existence.“
How is this a push for peace, when Trumps main adviser through this endeavor has unashamedly belittled the Palestinian people and praised Israel.
The undertone of this plan is one which holds Israel in high regard and is nothing more than a sales pitch that glorifies Israel and enforces the plans they have to carry on illegally occupying Palestine.
